Friday, May 9, 2008, 6:30pm - Ralph Nader Rally at the University of Arizona, Phoenix, Arizona  $10 contribution/ $5 student/low-income (no one turned away).

Qualifying for the Ballot
Following up on his 2004 campaign, in which he ended up on the Arizona ballot as a write-in candidate, Ralph Nader successfully challenged two provisions of Arizona’s election regulations: "the requirement that circulators of nomination petitions be residents of Arizona and the requirement that nomination petitions be filed at least 90 days before the primary election."  See the decision in
Nader v. Brewer filed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on July 9, 2008.  Postscript.  Arizona appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, but on March 9, 2009 the Court declined to take up the matter. [press release]
